“The most important thing to know about Elaine’s school is that when you drop your child off at school, he or she is being cared for by someone who genuinely cares for them. The school feels as close to your home as a classroom can feel. My son, Jacob, is excited to go to school in the morning. At the end of the day, he is proud of the work he has done at school that day. You can see that all the children are not only happy to be at school, but eager to take on new “works” and challenges.
Elaine has spent a great deal of her personal time outside of the classroom to help my child grow and succeed. Jacob has speech delays, as well as anxiety difficulties. Elaine has taken the initiative to research diagnoses and teaching techniques to best help Jacob. She has filled out numerous surveys and questionnaires for several doctors and therapists in order to obtain a “big picture” to best diagnose Jacob. Elaine is always willing to modify or change teaching styles to help Jacob succeed.
All of the professionals we have worked with have all said that Elaine’s school has been the best possible environment for my son’s success and advancement.
Elaine has been a blessing to our family. Jacob has advanced beyond what I felt could been possible. I know I owe a great deal of this to Elaine. She truly, genuinely cares about Jacob’s future.”

“Our family wishes you the best of luck in Bend, Oregon! Cole, now six, enjoyed two years at [Elaine’s] Montessori school. Through his experiences at her school, he gained confidence, independence, organization, and developed great listening skills. Developing and perfecting these crucial skills with Elaine has helped Cole excel and stand out above the others in his class in public school. Madison, now four, will be finishing up her first year at [Elaine’s] school. She also has developed confidence, independence, excellent organization and listening skills. Madison and Cole developed an appreciation for nature, a love for learning and the value of friendship. With all that being said I would like to thank you, Elaine, for giving us the privilege of experiencing Montessori education at this level at [your] Montessori School.”

“Elaine,
I am truly thankful that our paths crossed this past year. As you know by now, I am very protective of my boys. It was difficult for me to let Luken spend so much time away from me, but I think sending him to your school was one of the best decisions I have made for him so far. Over the past 10 months, I watched as Luken grew in so many ways. He learned his letters, letter sounds, how to count, and is now excited about learning to read! He has gained confidence in himself and become even more independent. Most importantly, though, is that he has developed a love for learning. I will never be able to thank you enough for that special gift.
I wish you all the very best in your new life. I know you will continue to bless many other children and their families in the same ways you have here over the past 10 years. Good luck!
Thank you again!”

“Elaine May is more than a teacher. She truly cares about her students, their individual successes, and their families. [She has spent many extra hours helping me develop a plan for teaching my son next year.]”

“I love Elaine. She is nice and helps me learn a lot of stuff.”

“First of all, I want to say when I received the phone call from Elaine informing me she was moving her preschool program, I was extremely sad. I was actually kind of upset with her for only my own selfish reasons. I know she must make this move to better her future and be closer to her family.
My son, now 7, had the opportunity to experience his 2 preschool years with Elaine at her preschool. He learned so much both instructionally and personally. He started into her program as a very quiet, reserved child. After finishing his second year with Elaine, he had become quite an intelligent leader in and out of her classroom. I am so thankful to Elaine for making my son's first years of education fun, but yet educational!
My 3 year old daughter unfortunately was only able to spend 1 year with Elaine. But in this one year my daughter has learned so much. The same things my son experienced above, my daughter has also experienced this year. Now I am in search of another preschool program for my daughter to attend in the upcoming year. It will be difficult to find such a great place for my daughter. I keep hoping I will receive a phone call from Elaine stating she has changed her mind! I know in my heart that is not going to happen...”

“I would like to express how much I appreciate and value the experience my son has had over the last 3 years at [Elaine’s] Montessori School. She has made my son feel respected and honored for the individual he is by creating an environment in which he feels safe, secure, successful and proud of himself. The patience and support Elaine has shown throughout the good times and the tough times were beyond my expectations and are appreciated more than I can express. There is no greater proof of Elaine’s success as a teacher than the positive changes I observed in my son on a daily basis. Thank you, Elaine, for the valuable experience.”
